Gran muestra de teatro hispano en Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura

El Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura en los Estados Unidos, entidad del Ministerio de Cultura de la República Dominicana, realizará una muestra de teatro hispano con la participación de 17 compañías, del 24 de mayo al 22 de junio de 2019, en su sala de teatro Rafael Villalona, localizada en el 541 West de la calle 145, en Manhattan, Nueva York.
Las funciones empezarán a las 7:30pm los viernes y sábados, y a las 6:30pm los domingos. Si hay dos funciones el mismo día, iniciará a las 6:00pm. Costo de entrada: $15 dólares.

El comisionado de Cultura, Lic. Carlos Sánchez, invitó a los amantes del teatro y al público en general a disfrutar de esta muestra de teatro, “en la que se presentarán obras de alta calidad representadas por los grupos hispanos más representativos de Nueva York y otros estados de los Estados Unidos, así como de la Compañía Nacional de Teatro de la República Dominicana”.
La muestra es organizada por el Departamento de Teatro del Comisionado, dirigido por el profesor Luis Felipe Rodríguez, y el Departamento de Enlace Cultural Comunitario, coordinado por Benjamín García.
El Teatro de Planta del Comisionado, la compañía oficial del Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura en los Estados Unidos, presentará la obra “La cantante calva”, ganadora del Premio ACE a la Mejor Producción en 2017.

About Fernando Campos

Fernando Campos, born in the Dominican Republic, is a film and theater critic and journalist based in New York since 1961, as part of a family very involved in the arts, being his brother the legendary actor Rafael Campos who worked in more than 50 Hollywood films, among others, with Marlon Brando in 'Appaloosa'. Founder and actual president of Latin ACE Awards, he has been part of the Association of Latin Entertainment Critics since the day of its foundation, December the 12th, 1967. He writes regularly for some of the most important Latin newspapers, such as Impacto NY, Ecuador News in Queens and Manhattan, El Especialito (West Side and Manhattan Edition), and El Especial (online). He is entertainment correspondent for Listín Diario, the most read newspaper in his home country the Dominican Republic, and also contributor to Associated Press historical archive images (http://www.apimages.com/metadata/Index/Olga-Agostini-Obit/2289fbc7cb7945858a03c89e1f33cd80), and has been awarded or honored by journalistic institutions, artistic associations, theaters and TV corporations, as well as community boards, more than fifty times during his more than 60 years of active journalism. He was for decades director and managing editor and editor-in-chief of such magazines as Canales and Temas.
