The 48th Annual Latin ACE Awards TV & Film Winners

WINNERS OF TELEVISION AND FILM AWARDS ACE 2014

The Association of Latin Entertainment Critics of New York, usually known by its acronym ACE, currently celebrating its 48th year as the dean of journalistic institutions of Hispanic arts sector in the United States, announced the winners of its annual awards in the categories of film and television for the past year, which will be delivered on Monday night March 30th 2015, in the Kaufman Center, NYC.

In the category of Stage Television Awards, the winners were: Best Telenovela: “Until the End of the World” executive producer: Nicandro Diaz Gonzalez, and directors: Ricardo de la Parra and Marta Luna (Mexico, Univision 41); Best Cultural Program: “Isabel,” third season, executive producer: Jaume Banacolocha, producer: Diagonal TV; and Best Director: Jordi Frades, also for “Elizabeth.” (Spain, Time Warner Cable, Channel 878).

In the category of Television Awards General, the ratio of winners comprise: Personality of the Year: Ismael Cala (Cuba, CNN); Best General program “Today” producer Carla Estrada (Mexico, Univision 41 WXTV); Best Specialized Program “Case Closed”, with Dr. Ana Maria Polo (Cuba, Telemundo 47). Speaker Highlights: Victor Javier Solano (Colombia, WXTV-41); Most Outstanding Female Voice: Patricia Janiot (Colombia, CNN); Reporter Highlights: Rafael Bello (Dominican Republic, Telemundo 47); and finally, Most Outstanding Reporter: Liz Gonzalez (United States-Peru, Telemundo 47).

The International Film Awards ACE winners of the competition sections are the following films to be considered extraordinary in each of their respective subcategories: Best Film won “Cantinflas” (Mexico), which recounts the private and professional life of an unforgettable Mexican comedian, and Best Director winner was Diego Quemada-Diez, for “the Golden Cage”, co-produced by Mexico and Spain. The ACE Award for Best Documentary is for Artur Balder (USA), for “Little Spain” feature that brings the recovery of historical memory of Hispanic and Spanish migrations in New York and the United States.

On the other hand, in acting for TV, the ACE made the following nominations: Best Actor: Juan Diego Covarrubias, for “De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero” (Mexico, Univision 41); Best Actress: Michelle Jenner, for “Isabel” (Spain, Time-Warner Cable, Channel 878); Coactuación Best Men: Mariano Palacios, for “impostor” (Mexico, Telemundo 47); Best Female Coactuación: Irene School, for “Isabel” (Spain, Time-Warner Cable, Channel 878); Characteristic Best Actor: Hugo Macías Macotela for “De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero (Mexico, Univision 41); Feature and Best Actress: Maria Rojo, by “Until the End of the World” (Mexico, Univision 41).

Ganadores de la 48ª Entrega Premios ACE de Cine y TV

GANADORES DE TELEVISION Y CINE DE LOS ACE 2014

La Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos de Nueva York, conocida generalmente por sus siglas ACE, que actualmente conmemora su año 48 como la decana de las instituciones periodísticas del sector artístico hispano en los Estados Unidos, anuncia los ganadores de sus premios anuales en las categorías de cine y televisión correspondientes al pasado año, que serán entregados la noche del lunes 30 de marzo, en el céntrico Kaufman Center neoyorquino.

En la categoría de Premios de Televisión Escénica, resultaron ganadores: Mejor Telenovela: “Hasta el Fin del Mundo”, productor ejecutivo: Nicandro Díaz González, y directores: Ricardo de la Parra y Marta Luna (México, Univisión 41); Mejor Programa Cultural: “Isabel,” tercera temporada, productor ejecutivo: Jaume Banacolocha, productora: Diagonal TV; y Mejor Dirección: Jordi Frades, también por “Isabel.” (España, Time Warner Cable, Canal 878).

En la categoría de Premios de Televisión General, la relación de ganadores la conforman: Personalidad del Año: Ismael Cala (Cuba, CNN); Mejor Programa General: “Hoy”, productora: Carla Estrada (México, Univisión 41 WXTV); Mejor Programa Especializado: “Caso Cerrado”, con la Dra. Ana María Polo (Cuba, Telemundo 47); Locutor Más Destacado: Víctor Javier Solano (Colombia, WXTV-41); Locutora Más Destacada: Patricia Janiot (Colombia, CNN); Reportero Más Destacado: Rafael Bello (República Dominicana, Telemundo 47); y, por último, Reportera Más Destacada: Liz González (Estados Unidos-Perú, Telemundo 47).

En la importante categoría de los Premios Internacionales de Cine de la ACE los ganadores de las secciones en competición han sido los siguientes filmes por ser considerados extraordinarios en cada una de sus respectivas subcategorías: Mejor Película lo ganó la producción “Cantinflas” (México), que relata la vida íntima y profesional del inolvidable comediante, figura cumbre del cine mexicano, y como Mejor Director resultó ganador Diego Quemada-Diez, por “La Jaula de Oro”, coproducción de México y España. El Premio ACE Mejor Documental es para Artur Balder (Estados Unidos), por “Little Spain,” largometraje que trae la recuperación de la memoria histórica de las migraciones hispanas y españolas en Nueva york y los Estados Unidos.

Por otro lado, en los apartados de actuación de TV, la ACE hizo las siguientes designaciones: Mejor Actor: Juan Diego Covarrubias, por “De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero (México, Univisión 41); Mejor Actriz: Michelle Jenner, por “Isabel” (España, Time-Warner Cable, Canal 878); Mejor Coactuación Masculina: Mariano Palacios, por “La Impostora” (México, Telemundo 47); Mejor Coactuación Femenina: Irene Escolar, por “Isabel” (España, Time-Warner Cable, Canal 878); Mejor Actor Característico: Hugo Macías Macotela, por “De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero (México, Univisión 41); y Mejor Actriz Característica: María Rojo, por “Hasta el Fin del Mundo” (México, Univisión 41).
